More Than A Boutique
Where Art, Community, and Local Giving Come Together
Hello neighbors! My name is Deb Vincent and I am the owner at Mercer Street Chic Boutique & Art Gallery. For me, supporting local is more than just a mission—it's the heart of everything we do. Our boutique showcases the work of talented local artists and artisans, as well as cause-based businesses that give back to important causes like breast cancer research, mental health initiatives, and child trafficking prevention.
When you shop with us, you're not just purchasing art or fashion—you're investing in the Dripping Springs community. The boutique side of our business helps keep our doors open, allowing us to continue supporting local artists and meaningful causes. We offer beautiful and affordable clothing, shoes, jewelry, and accessories, ensuring that both locals and visitors can shop with purpose.
A Labor of Love
Mercer Street Chic began in November 2019 as an art gallery—a dream shared with a dear artist friend who has since passed. Though she was only part of the business for a short time, her vision lives on. When the pandemic hit just weeks after we opened, I spent my days in town, displaying art outside so passersby could still experience the beauty and culture we bring to the community.
To sustain the gallery, I introduced the boutique, carefully curating pieces that bring joy and confidence to those who wear them. This business is my happy place, and I hope everyone who walks through our doors feels the same warmth and connection.
More Than a Store — A Community Hub
One of my greatest joys is connecting people. Many customers come in searching for more than just art or fashion—sometimes they need a local realtor, an event venue, or simply a welcoming space to share their story. It's incredibly rewarding to facilitate these connections and see how art and community intersect in unexpected ways.
A Simple Message: Shop Local
If we don't support our local businesses, our town loses its soul. Online shopping and big-box stores may be convenient, but they can't replace the unique charm and personal connections found in a local shop. Keeping it local keeps Dripping Springs vibrant.
A Few Fun Stories
Owning a boutique comes with its surprises! One night at a dance hall, a woman bought the jeans right off my body. Another time, a customer insisted on purchasing my belt. And as for my accent? While I don't hear it, it's clear to everyone that I'm not from here—I hail from Long Island and Connecticut!
Beyond the shop, I'm proud to have helped start the Dripping Springs Art League, which continues to thrive thanks to an incredible group of artists and leaders.
On a personal note, life has a way of surprising you—I met my husband because he arrested my estranged ex. Talk about turning lemons into lemonade!
